CYBERBULLYING AT SCHOOLS

My Individual Project in Digital Technologies (IPDT) is about cyberbullying at schools. On it, you will find theoretical content about cyberbullying, as well as information about how can we, as teachers, prevent, detect and stop it if the phenomenon has already arisen. Therefore, I have included my own productions to raise awareness of the importance of preventing cyberbullying, specially at schools, so that kids are more likely to not suffer it. These productions are a video created through "Powtoon" and a "Quizizz". Finally, here you can find my personal conclusions and reflections about the topic, as well as the teacher's digital competences (TDC) that I have been working on throughout the development of the project.

So the Teacher's Digital Competences (TDC) that I have been developing are the following:

  • ETHICAL AND DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: Responsible, safe and healthy use of digital technologies
  • ETHICAL AND DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: Promotion of digital inclusion
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Creation and dissemination of content and educational resources in digital format

CONCLUSIONS (IPDT)

In the first place, I have to say that the project that I have finally developed is not exactly how I thought it would be. While I was developing it, I started realizing that it would be more useful to create educational and preventive material regarding Cyberbullying instead of analyzing plenty of data.

Firstly, I have learned and prepared several effective ways to prevent this phenomenon, which I believe it is the most important phase in order to prevent it from arising. For this reason, this is the phase I have mainly focused my project on.

Secondly, I think I would be able to detect it in a class in case it occurs, which is extremely important to prevent it from consolidating.

Finally, if the worst happens, I am well aware of the steps that I should follow in order to effectively stop it.

So, to conclude, once finished the development of this extensive project, I can firmly say that I am well aware of the protocol that should be followed when a cyberbullying situation takes place. I can also say that I now have some resources I have created myself to prevent it from actually occurring.

And that would be all, I am proud of the final result and I think this is a good way to end with this subject.
